Fluid Mechanics Lab

The Fluid Mechanics Lab offers students water- and wind-based, hands-on opportunities to examine and understand different principles of fluid mechanics.

In Fluid Mechanics Lab EMS WB96A students are able to set-up and conduct specific water-based experiments that demonstrate fundamental fluid properties and behaviors. Students can then relate those properties and behaviors to engineering problems and applications, as well as compare actual to theoretical fluid behavior.

In Fluid Mechanics Lab EMS WB60 a small wind tunnel is integrated with a data acquisition and control system, allowing students to experiment with airflow behavior through and around a variety of objects. Students can then relate the data they collect to engineering problems and applications, as well as compare actual to theoretical fluid behavior.
