Summary This resource is a report that aims to better understand the implications of AI in libraries. As a Digital futures research report, it presents the results of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Libraries Project at the University of Leeds Libraries. The author, Dr. Luba Pirgova-Morgan, discussed challenges and ethical issues of using AI in library context, and the required changes to address them. Specifically, the report includes a review of current AI research and practices, a survey with 60 responses, and 19 interviews with expert stakeholders internationally. Based on these data, the report explores librarians’ perspectives on 1) AI and resilience, 2) AI and climate awareness, and 3) AI and equality, diversity and inclusion practices. Recommendations for AI applications in libraries were provided in this report.
