Summary Developed by a European institute (AI4People), this report presents sector-specific ethical frameworks for implementing ethical AI across seven industries: Automotive, Banking & Finance, Energy, Healthcare, Insurance, Legal Services, and Media & Technology. The report builds on AI4People’s earlier ethical and governance work (see Link field). Building on AI4People’s earlier work on AI ethics and AI governance, each framework is developed by a dedicated committee of domain experts and scholars from fields such as ethics, law, policy, and AI. All frameworks are aligned with the seven requirements for trustworthy AI defined by the EU’s High-Level Expert Group on AI: 1) Human agency and oversight. 2) Technical robustness and safety. 3) Privacy and data governance. 4) Transparency. 5) Diversity, non-discrimination, and fairness. 6) Societal and environmental well-being. 7) Accountability. Each sector framework details sector-specific ethical concerns, guidelines and practical recommendations and helps understand how the seven principles can be implemented in different domains. For example, the framework for the automotive sector addresses ethical issues surrounding autonomous vehicles (AVs) and the responsible use of AI in mobility systems. It translates the seven ethical principles into concrete policy and industry recommendations for AV design, deployment, and governance, aimed at supporting policymakers in establishing acceptable standards and guiding industry best practices.
