Prereq: MECHENG 101(P), PHYSICS 210 (P), and a grade of C or better in ELECENG 234(P) and CIV ENG 202(P).

MECHENG 463 – Introduction to Finite Elements

Description and Prerequisite:
Generation and assembly of finite element matrices in one- and two-dimensional problems. Modeling and practical applications in solid mechanics, heat transfer and fluid flow.
CIV ENG 463 and MECHENG 462 are jointly offered and count as repeats of one another. Prereq: junior standing; CIV ENG 203(P), CIV ENG 303(P), or ELECENG 234(P); and MECHENG 311(C), MECHENG 320(C), or MECHENG 321(C).
