Senior Scientist / Data Center Manager

The bulk of the CGCA’s approximately 40 faculty, staff and students are members of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration that recently made the first direct detection of gravitational waves predicted by Einstein. I manage the budget and operations of a data center dedicated to the CGCA and to LSC research.

I lead a team of computing scientists and staff – several in a direct supervisory role – who provide computing services that facilitate the LSC’s scientific goals. Additionally, I operate the NEMO computing cluster that provides six thousand recent cores and nearly 2 PB of storage for LSC members to conduct data-intensive searches for gravitational waves.
