Mohammad Qandil

After earning his B.S. degree at Al-Balqa Applied University (in Jordan), Mr. Qandil worked as a Technical Support Engineer (3 years in Jordan) and a Sales Engineer (2 years in Oman) at PETRA Engineering for HVAC Industries (a leading HVAC manufacturer in the Middle East) for several years before pursuing graduate studies. Since receiving his M.Sc., he has been a Research Assistant (Ph.D. Candidate) in the Industrial Assessment Center of University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee which promotes energy efficiency and sustainable manufacturing through energy assessments for manufacturing facilities. His current research seeks to increase efficiency and performance of water turbines by minimizing the formation of cavitation phenomena, this process can produce unwanted noise, vibrations, and equipment damage. His past research has addressed the utilization of using a stand-alone Hybrid Photovoltaic, Fuel Cell and Battery System in remote areas. 

His current research interests are 1) Energy Auditing, Efficiency, and Sustainability 2) Renewable Energy 3) Hydro-turbines. 

Mr. Qandil has published 4 journal papers and 9 conference papers in hydropower, solar power and energy auditing areas.
