For breast cancer , we would like to address to three overarching challenges: (i) identify what drives breast cancer growth; determine how to stop it, (ii) determine why/how breast cancer cells lie dormant for years and reemerge, determine how to prevent a lethal recurrence, and (iii) conquer the problems of overtreatment and over diagnosis.

For image segmentation, we would like to use deep learning algorithm for disease diagnoses through better object segmentation and identification.

For precision drug development, we would like to use AI models to screen novel small molecules for previous un-targetable diseases.

For biosensors, we would like to incorporate our C60 nucleic acid probes into testing live pathogens in our daily life.

For radiation biology, we are striding to investigate what drives cancer growth and determine how to stop it after therapeutic, diagnostic, and space radiations. We would like to determine why/how cancer cells lie dormant for years and reemerge and determine how to prevent a lethal recurrence after radiotherapy and understand the effect of space travel on human body.
