FULL INFORMATION ON THE MINI-PAPERS IS AT THE END OF THE COURSE SYLLABUS

Your paper must:

  • address the assigned topic
  • be the assigned length
  • be based entirely on the week’s lectures, online lecture outlines, and assigned readings (no outside sources allowed, including Wikipedia)
  • be well organized and clearly written
  • use college-level English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and phrasing
  • be entirely your own work, with no collaborating, copying, quotations, or use of AI
  • be submitted on time via Canvas (late work will not be accepted except in case of major illness or emergency; please contact me ASAP in such a case)
  • be fully documented with endnotes (see instructions in syllabus)

Pack your papers with solid factual content, not “padding.” Avoid vague or unclear writing – it indicates that you do not understand your material. Put everything in your own words, and do not include any quotations at all.

Note:   Submitting work that is not your own is PLAGIARISM. Your papers must be entirely your own work. The penalty for plagiarism is an F or worse; it can include expulsion from the university.
