In the Integrated Movement Science and Athletic Training (IMSAT) Laboratory, we are committed to investigating and solving problems in topics related to Human Movement, Performance and Injury Prevention using a biopsychosocial approach.

About Us

The faculty in the IMSAT lab have expertise in athletic training, biomechanics, motor control, clinical trials, and rehabilitation interventions. Students in the lab are part of several masters and doctoral programs. Alumni have gone on to successful careers in clinical practice, industry, and academic research settings.

Graduate Education

Multiple programs for students with a desire to be engaged in research as part of their professional career, or those who seek a research focused career in industry or academia. We have a culture of clinician-researcher partnerships and field or clinical focused research.

Research

IMSAT lab studies occur both in the laboratory and field settings, and include question about joint movement, muscle function, movement education and feedback, and rehabilitation interventions. Lower extremity acute and overuse injuries are commonly studied.
